You've Got Options

How you call with Hamilton Video Relay is completely up to you. You can customize your calls with options such as Voice Carry Over (VCO), conference calling, preferred sign communication methods, and more. If you don't see an option that meets your Video Relay needs, contact us, and we'll work with you!

Voice Carry Over

Use your voice with Hamilton Video Relay – use 2-Line Voice Carry Over (2-Line VCO).

2-Line Voice Carry Over
You will need a phone, separate from your videophone, to speak through. This phone can be a land-line, VoIP or cell phone. You do NOT need the 3-way calling feature provided by your telephone carrier for 2-Line VCO.

Making a 2-Line VCO Call

  1. Dial Hamiltonvrs.tv to connect with a Hamilton Video Relay Interpreter (VI) on your videophone.
  2. Tell the VI you want VCO and provide the number of your phone.
  3. The VI will call you and will now be able to hear your voice.
  4. Ask the VI to dial the number of the person you wish to call.
  5. Upon connecting the caller, the VI will interpret what is said, and you may speak directly to the caller.

Receiving a 2-Line VCO Call

  1. The hearing person dials Hamilton Video Relay at: 866-498-4777.
  2. They ask the VI to dial your IP Address.
  3. When you answer, inform the VI to make this a VCO Call and provide them with the number to dial.
  4. Ask the VI to inform the person calling you to hold while they connect you via VCO.
  5. Once your phone is connected, you are then connected and able to speak to the caller.

Conference Calling

With Hamilton Relay you can join any conference call or tele-seminar course. Just inform the VI that you are joining a conference call so they can arrange a backup VI if necessary. Then provide the VI with the conference phone number, bridge number and access code for the conference call you wish to participate in.
